Desloratadine 5 mg
Dezdin tablet contains desloratadine. It is anti-histaminic which is mainly used to treat allergies.

Mechanism of action
The drug produces its action by reacting with human histamine H1 receptor and inhibiting the release of histamine. Desloratadine is histamine antagonist having H1 receptor histamine antagonist activity.
After oral administration the drug attains its maximum plasma concentration in 3 hrs. Presence of fruit or juice does not effect the bioavailability of the drug.
The drug is well distributed in the body and about 85-89% of the drug is bound to plasma protein. The drug is metabolized by an active metabolite to 3-hydroxydesloratadine.
The metabolites of the drug is excreted in urine and feces.
