Fascina Cream

COMPOSITION:

Hydroquinone                2.0% w/w

Tretinoin                     0.025% w/w

Mometasone furoate  0.1% w/w

Introduction

Fascina cream contains hydroquinone, tretinoin and mometasone furoate. Hydroquinone is a type of phenol which is used to lighten the darkened skin.  Tretinoin is an acidic form of vitamin A   which is mainly useful for the treatment of acne. Mometasone is a topical corticosteroid which is mainly useful in skin inflammatory reactions.

 

 

Indication

  • Itching and inflammation of eczema
  • Pigmentation
  • Allergy and skin rashes
  • Dermatitis
  • Sun or hormone induced melasma

 

 

Dosage

The use of the drug is based on the condition of the patient or as directed

 

Mechanism of action

The cream as a whole produces its action by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase which involved in the synthesis of melanin. The drug shows anti-inflammatory action  and  increases the turnover of follicular epithelial cells.

 

 

Contraindications

  • Co-administration of other drugs
  • Use of any other herbal or vitamin therapy
  • Cream not to be used with resorcinol, salicylic acid and sulphur drugs

 

Precaution

  • Patients with eczematous skin
  • Not to be taken by mouth
  • Wash your hands after using cream
  • Avoid usage of this medication in eyes and mouth
